55 organisations funded

With the tally in for the 2007 campaign, our grants committees in each state have finalised this year's grants. We established a Grant Advisory Committee in each of the states which StreetSmart operates. This committee decides where the funds we raise will go. This year we have supported 55 organisations, with a total of 123 to date.

Our focus is to support organisations directly working to improve the lives of those experiencing homelessness, supporting those at risk and also working in the area of prevention. These organisations struggle to access the networks and lack the resources to fundraise themselves, so our grants make a huge difference to the work they can do. This week has seen the release of the report into Youth Homelessness and 28 of this year's grants have been awarded to organisations directly assisting young people.
