All Stars raise $25,000

The sold-out Front Of House All Stars event was held on Sunday March 21st 2010 at Mezzo Bar + Grill in Melbourne. It is the second time this event has been held, and it aimed to exceed the $20,000 raised in 2009 for StreetSmart. And, the team has done it, raising just over $25,000.

StreetSmart ambassador and co-owner of Mezzo Bar + Grill, Luke Stringer, assembled a group of some of Melbourne ’s finest Front Of House professionals, including Adam Cash (Cutler & Co), Sam Christie (Longrain), Simon Denton (Verge / Izakaya Den), Sean Kierce (Ladro) and Alice Heath (Montalto) who each donated their time for a six-course dinner, presenting the signature dishes from each of their restaurants matched with their favourite wine, The night was MCed by the enigmatic Erez Gordon (ex Jacques Reymond and The Botanical).

Profits from the event go straight to StreetSmart’s Melbourne-based projects; funds were raised through tickets sales as well as a live auction. What started as a handsome list of auction lots featuring some outstanding food and wine experiences soon escalated into a prize-giving frenzy, as the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival’s Ellie Rowland spontaneously added four tickets to the 2011 Masterclass weekend and cocktail party to the auction. This sparked a flood of generosity from Church St Enoteca who offered up a dinner for 10, and Patrick Walsh from wine distributor Cellarhand who threw in some wonderful wines for said dinner.

The Front Of House All Stars dinner was a part of the 2010 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.
